About Us
Based in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, Gabe Kirkley and Thomas Smith have been been working together on film sets and live events for over a decade. We've spent that time around rooms where there are no second takes, so we know how to arrive early, stay out of the way, and get the shot the first time. Working as directors, videographers, and editors, we combine our skills on every project to create the best possible product for our clients.
We shoot on Sony Cinema Line cameras with premium lenses and high-end audio equipment, and carry an industry-standard lighting and grip package built for large venues and low-light ballrooms.
Gabe Kirkley
Gabe first began filming backyard movies with his friends as a teenager and has never really stopped. These days, he's thrilled to have grown what started as a side project to a full-blown company with his best friend Thomas. Aside from Kirksmith, he is a director, writer, marketer and software engineer. When he's not telling stories or writing code, he loves reading history, lamenting another Canucks season, hanging out with his wife and their cat, and travelling.
Thomas Smith
What started as a fun pastime for Thomas in high school has turned into a fierce passion; bringing creative stories from the page to life. Bringing Kirksmith to life with his best friend has been a dream project come true. When not working in film, Thomas can be found performing, directing, and writing for the stage, or chipping away at his ever increasing backlog of video games.
